The chemical composition of the combustion products of a burner that is used bythe personnel of the Royal Dutch Navy during training was determined. The following compounds were sampled and analysed: carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, aldehydes, organic vapors, organic acids, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide and particulates. Based upon the emissions of the various compounds the dilution ventilation to maintain occupational quality standards were calculated.
