Data and Data Processing Issues in the Estimation of Requirements for AircraftRecoverable Spares and Depot Repair

This report discusses data and data processing issues that are important to theestimation of requirements for aircraft recoverable spares and, especially, depot-level repair. To the extent that the requirements database (the set of files used by the Recoverable Consumption Item Requirements System, D041) is used for other logistics management functions, these issues are also important to those purposes. For example, DRIVE (Distribution and Repair in Variable Environments) uses data from the requirements database to enable its prioritization of component repairs and allocation of assets emerging from repair to locations worldwide. Capability assessments also rely on knowledge of the indenture relationships among components of a weapon system.
