Modeling Theater Level Logistics For Wargames

The Naval War College, Wargames Department needs a computer model that simulatestheater level logistics to generate wargame 'ground truth' and to aid players in simple planning. Of course, a logistics model must meet specific performance requirements in order to fill the needs of the Naval War College. This thesis presents the Surge and Sustainment Simulation, S3, a model with the required characteristics to allow the Naval War College to add logistical constraints to their wargames, both ENWGS and seminar. The relevant characteristics of the required model are defined, and the S3 model is described with a view to answering the stated requirements. Finally, an example of a Naval War College wargame run with the Surge and Sustainment Simulation is provided.
