This TOP contains a compilation of procedures for safety testing of small arms weapons including hand and shoulder weapons, machineguns, and medium caliber weapons up to 50 mm. The test procedures serve as a guide to help standardize testing and to specify tests commonly used to identify and assess safety hazards associated with the use of small arms. The procedures concentrate on those recommended for Safety Release Recommendations and Safety Confirmation Recommendations.
