Standards approved by ANSI in 1992/1993 and published include: (1) Quantities andprocedures for description and measurement of outdoor environmental sound; (2) Engineering method for the determination of sound power levels of noise sources using sound intensity; (3) methods for the field measurement of the sound output of audible public warning devices installed at fixed locations outdoors; (4) Acoustics-Portable electric power tools, stationary and fixed electric power tools, and gardening appliances and measurement of sound emitted; and (5) Guidelines for the specification of noise of new machinery.
