Godunov Scheme for Elasto-Plasticity

This paper describes a computational scheme for modeling one-dimensional flow ofan elasto-plastic material. The method is based upon a conservative formulation for elasto-plasticity in the Eulerian frame; it uses a second-order Godunov scheme. To validate the method, numerical simulations of loading in plate impact problems are compared with experimental results.
