摘要

High resolution electrophoretic gels are ideal for monitoring the occurrence ofDNA strand breaks. However, there are only a few reports on the use of these techniques in studies of radiation damage in DNA. In this work we have further explored the utility of these electrophoresis methods to study the formation of strand breaks induced in short deoxyoligonucleotides (11-base pairs) in the single and double-stranded forms in the presence and absence of the known radioprotectant molecule cysteamine.
