Developing the Joint Maritime Command Information System Architecture Top Down

摘要

The Joint Maritime Command Information System (JMCIS), a product of the Space andNaval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Command and Control (C2) Directorate (PD-6O), integrates several formerly separate C2 planning and logistic systems. This paper proposes a top-down approach to JMCIS evolution: functionality would be extended to include support for battle-management; and, the application set would be rationalized to achieve completeness and consistency and to prevent redundancy. The proposed approach is to extend the JMCIS layered architecture along three dimensions: organizational: functional; and, physical.
