In Vitro Systems for Studying Metabolism of Environmental Chemicals in HumanCells

The objective of the project is to establish and use an in vitro system of intactisolated cells from rodent and human tissues to develop quantitative data on the metabolism of toxic chemicals that can be used for risk assessments. The following halogenated aliphatic solvents are being studied: chloroform, 1,1, 1-trichloroethane, trichloroethylene, dicloromethane, bromochloromethane, and carbon tetrachloride.
