In this work a variety of novel films were produced. The films consisted of DNAcomplexed with the platinum compounds ((bipy)Pt(en)) and cis-diamminedichloroplatinum(II) as well as netropsin and daunomycin. Other films were made of either DNA or hyaluronic acid (HA) with different metallic counterions. These films were studied in order to determine if the films had enhanced optical or acoustical properties. Optical, third harmonic and second harmonic generation were observed from DNA, DNA/bipy, and DNA/netropsin films. An optical anomaly was also observed at the A-to-B transition in CsDNA. Enhanced
