Free Energy of Nonequilibrium Polarization Systems. 4. A Formalism Based on theNonequilibrium Displacement

An expression for the free energy of nonequilibrium polarization systems, validin the presence or absence of dielectric images, is derived using the nonequilibrium dielectric displacement and electric field vectors. The results are compared with those based on the nonequilibrium polarization vector (Part I). For the case of longitudinal polarization they are equivalent. However, the present expression is simpler and more compact. The results are compared with others in the literature. (KAR) P. 2.
