Numerical Simulations and Restorations of Laser Droplet-Slicing Images

A numerical technique is reported here that simulates the image formationprocesses in a laser droplet-slicing imaging experiment for droplet thermometry. The distorted images of the central plane of a transparent droplet, covered by its front hemisphere, can be numerically simulated, and the images can be partially restored. An off-90 deg observation arrangement is proposed for such experiments.
