Analysis of Atropine and Obidoxime Injections Used for the Treatment of NerveAgent Poisoning

Atropine sulphate and obidoxime chloride have been assayed in a small sample ofautoinjectors (ComboPens) and obidoxime chloride in two small samples of injectable solutions (Astra and Merck (Toxogonin) made available from ADF stores. Assays were performed using a simple HPLC method which enables the extent of deterioration of both atropine and oxime in autoinjectors to be determined without prior separation. Nmr was used to identify unknown components. Two different batches of Toxogonin powder have also been compared using the same method. Nerve agents, HPLC, Atropine, Obidoxime chloride.
