A major requirement of the systematic design of camouflage is to obtain acolorimetric match of the camouflaged object to its anticipated surroundings. This match needs to cover both the visible and, because of the operating bands of silicon based surveillance sensors such as image intensifiers and low light TV, the near-infrared.
