摘要

The effects of high-intensity electrical, magnetic, ultrasonic, and microwavefields upon the microstructural and mechanical properties of metal and ceramic alloys and the implications on the processing conditions for the forming components to near-net-shape are reviewed and discussed. Potentially significant developments that would take advantage of the most prominent effects in the forming of some components of interest to the DoD are identified.
