Numerical Models for Design of Inclined Structures

摘要

Numerical models have been developed for the last decade to predict time-dependent wave motions on inclined structures and resulting hydrodynamic forces acting on armor units. The numerical models and their purposes are summarized concisely to facilitate the selection of an appropriate model for a specific application. The comparisons of these models with laboratory experiments have indicated the degree of agreement that may be acceptable for practical applications. however, the models will need to be compared with field data before they can be applied to the actual design of inclined structures with more confidence. In addition, the intercomparisons of different numerical models using the same data sets will be required to reveal the strength and weakness of each model and clarify future research need.
