Simultaneous Three-Wavelength Operation of a Coupled-Cavity Laser Containing TwoGain Elements

A cw, dual wavelength laser is described in which two separate gain elements arealigned in a coupled cavity configuration. The laser produced simultaneous emission at 806 nm and 1.06 micron, and sum frequency generation at 459 nm was demonstrated using an intracavity KTP crystal. Over 145 mW was generated in a TEMoo mode at 459 nm. The 459 nm linewidth was 0.03 nm and the Output was tunable from 457 to 460 nm. The optical conversion efficiency was 33% based on the output power of the two fundamentals.
