Digital Rotational Speed Measurement

The compressor research facility (CRF) located at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohioevaluates full-scale fans or compressors in simulated flight conditions. Rotational speed measurement is used both for control and performance data collection of compressors under test. This report describes the design of an integrated circuit and supporting hardware for replacing the older rotational measurement system currently in use in the CRF.
