Australian chemical engineers command the highest average salaries compared with the US and the UK, according to the 2011 salary survey by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. While the average salary for chemical engineers in Australia was quoted as A$124,500, chemical engineers in the US earned on average US$110,000 (about A$113,000) and those in the UK were on ￡50,000 (about A$80,000).
