Chemical engineering student Tak-shila Balasuriya from The University of Melbourne has won the Malvern poster prize at the Colloids 2011 conference held in Britain last month. A third year PhD student in the Dynamic Interfacial Forces Group, she won the prize for her work titled Dynamic Forces between Bubbles with Switchable Peptide Surfactants. Her thesis work focuses on nanoscale interactions in biomolecular systems in soft matter.
