Numerical simulation of explosively compacted superconducting powders

In the present investigation, axisymmetric explosive compaction has been employed to consolidate YBa2Cu3O7-x superconducting powder and an;attempt is made to simulate the explosive compaction using explicit finite element techniques and to determine the mechanical behaviour of the powders under applied stress.
