In the present investigation, axisymmetric explosive compaction has been employed to consolidate YBa2Cu3O7-x superconducting powder and an;attempt is made to simulate the explosive compaction using explicit finite element techniques and to determine the mechanical behaviour of the powders under applied stress. The computational results obtained are presented and discussed. [References: 4]
