Tetragonal distortions of chlorine octahedra surrounding paramagnetic ions in the tetragonal phase of RbCdCl3

The tetragonal distortions of chlorine octahedra in the tetragonal phase of RbCdCl3 perovskite are studied by analyzing the EPR spectra of this crystal doped with Mn2+, Gd3+ and Co2+ impurities. The results suggest that the chlorine octahedra are stretched along < 001 > axis by the order of 10(-3) Angstrom. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. [References: 26]
