The modified electrostatic model (G. Neumann, V. Tolle, Phil. Mag. A 71 (1995) 231; G. Neumann, V. Tolle, Phil. Mag. A 71 (1995) 249) is applied to the impurity diffusion in cobalt, on which only a small number of experimental data has been published as yet. z(0) = 0.65 is used for the effective charge of the cobalt ion. The temperature dependencies of the diffusion coefficients are calculated for sp and 3d impurities, disregarding a diffusion anomaly near the magnetic order-disorder transition.
