The electron energy dependence of the inelastic-scattering length is systematically studied in two-dimensional electron gas systems at high magnetic fields. The influence of the source-drain voltage on the inelastic-scattering processes is anomalously weak as compared to the elevating lattice temperature. We interpret the results as a consequence of spatial separation between two groups of scattering-wave states that are incident on the conductor from the source- and the drain reservoirs.
