In the CuS-(1 - x)CrS-xVS system CuCrt-xVxS2 solid solutions isostructural with CuCrS2 and Cu3VS4 were found by replacement of Cr by V up to x = 0.20. The oxidation states of Cr and V were determined from structural data and paramagnetic susceptibility measurements. The CuCr1-xVxS2 solid solutions were found to have mixed electronic and Cu+-cationic conductivity. Copper cationic conductivity increases with increasing unit cell size. [References: 23]
