Characterising bulk materials: The British Materials Handling Board's tips on characterising bulk materials

Bulk materials have many attributes relative to storage and handling and should be characterised and recorded for any project to assess the potential behaviour in all the circumstance of the application. This should be done by a named, responsible person, and accepted as the basis of any solids handling contract involving the storage, handling or processing of a bulk material. The following tips are suggested to highlight potential features of interest.
