Bioinspired dye for solar cells

Chlorophyll has provided the inspiration for a transparent, cheap and environmentally friendly dye for use in dye sensitised solar cells (DSSCs). The sun is an important inexhaustible and clean energy source and the conversion of sunlight to energy using DSSCs has proved to be an efficient option.
