We identify a 2D chain cluster, which consists of a periodic single row of bubbles of equal area with unequal pressures in alternate bubbles (C-cluster with curved inter-bubble films), existing in a finite interval of the period in which a normal configuration with equal pressures and straight inter-bubble films (N-cluster) also exists. For the same number of bubbles per unit length of the chain, the C-cluster has lower energy per bubble than the N-cluster of uniform pressure.
