Photodistributed telangiectasia induced by calcium channel blockers: case report and review of the literature.

To the Editor, Photodistributed telangiectasia is rarely reported. We report a patient who developed unusually extensive telangiectasia in a photodistribution secondary to administration of the calcium channel blocker (CCB) amlodipine (R, S)-2-[(2-aminoethoxy) methyl] l-4-(2-chlorophenyl)-3-ethoxycarbonyl-S-methoxycarbonyl- 6- methyll-, 4-dihydropyridine). Discontinuation of the amlodipine resulted in significant clinical improvement. Our review of the literature highlights an association between photodistibuted telangiectasia and the use of the dihydropyridine group of CCB.
