Societe Generate Arranging Financing For Azerbaijan PC. Fertilizer Project

Baku—Societe Generale of France has started the process of arranging financing for a petrochemical and fertilizer complex that Azer-kimya plans to build in Azerbaijan (PCN, 7 Sept 09, p 1). Specific details have not been disclosed by the company, but sources in Azerbaijan said the complex will include the production of 700,000 t/y of high- and low-density polyethylene, 130,000 t/y of polypropylene, 110,000 t/y of styrene and 40,000 t/y of benzene. Memorandums of understanding have been signed with ExxonMobil, Ineos, KBE, Basell, Uhde and Technip for the supply of technologies.
