Mofeom Places Deposit on Imports Of PTA from Korea and Thailand

Beiiins-China's Ministry of Commerce (Mofeom), in a preliminary ruling, is requiring importers of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) from Korea and Thailand to pay deposits for those imports. Mofeom, citing evidence of substantial damage to China's PTA sector, said it is extending its anti-dumping investigation into these imports, which was launched in February 2009, until 12 Aug. 2010. The delay is because "this case is quite special and complicated," the ministry noted.
