JBF Industries in Deal with Oman Oil For 1.2-Million-T/Y Omani PTA Plant

Sohar-JBF Industries of India has signed a memorandum of understanding with Oman Oil Co. for construction of a 1.2-million-t/y joint venture purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Oman. JBF said the project, with a cost of approximately $680-million, will be located in Sohar near Oman Aromatics' site. Oman Oil has a 60% interest in Oman Aromatics.
