A field experiment were conducted at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore with seven treatments of diafenthiuron 50 WP along with untreated control replicated thrice for consecutive two year study the efficacy of diafenthiuron 50 WP againstDimond backmoth Plutella xylostella in cabbage. The pooled mean of two years data revealed that, diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 300 g a.i.ha~(-1) were superior in reducing per cent larval population and recorded the highest yield which was on par with higher dose600 g a.i.ha~(-1). Harvest time residues of diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 300 and 600 g a.i. ha~(-1) were below detectable level in cabbage head and soil samples.
