Saudi Chevron Phillips Identifies ABB For Large Cracker Project in Jubail

Jubail-Saudi Chevron Phillips has selected ABB Lummus Global to provide technology for a proposed large ethylene and propylene project in Jubail,Saudi Arabia(PCN,27 June 05,p 3).The cracker,to be built as part of a multi-billion dollar petrochemical complex,will combine ABB's latest pyrolysis and ethylene recovery processes with its Olefins Conversion Technology to produce 1.165-million t/y of ethylene and more than 450,000 t/y of propylene.The cracker will use primarily ethane and propane feedstock,with a minimal amount of liquid feedstock,ABB said.
