Washington-The U.S.Federal Trade Commission(FTC)last week approved,subject to certain divestitures,Linde AG's proposed acquisition of the BOC Group(PCN,17 July 06,p 2).FTC's conditions for the transaction,which has already been approved by the European Commission,include Linde's agreement to divest eight U.S.air separation units,and an agreement to divest three liquid helium purchase agreements with suppliers in the U.S.,Russia and Poland,as well as associated assets.
