BASF & Sinopec Agree to Expand JV Verbund Complex in Nanjing

Nanjing-BASF and China Petroleum & Chemical Corp.(Sinopec)last week signed a 500-million agreement to expand their Verbund chemical complex in Nanjing,China(PCN,3 Oct 05,p 1).BASF-YPC Co.Ltd.,an equally-owned joint venture of BASF and Sinopec,will expand capacity of their Nanjing ethylene cracker,which started production last June,to about 750,000 t/y from the original 600,000-t/y capacity.
