RIL,IPCL,ONGC Idle Some Units Heavy Rains and Flooding Cited

Mumbai-Reliance Industries Ltd.(RIL),Indian Petrochemicals Corp.Ltd.(IPCL)and Oil and Natural Gas Corp.(ONGC)have been forced to shut down some of their facilities because of floods from India's monsoon rains.RIL on 8 Aug.notified the Mumbai Stock Exchange that"in view of the heavy rains and prevailing flood situation of river Tapi,"some plants at its Hazira petrochemical complex have been shut down.Without identifying which units have been idled,RIL said the facilities will remain closed until such time as"normalcy is restored."
