Taixing-Solvay has reserved a construction site in China's Taixing Economic Development Park and started a study for a new epichloro-hydrin plant.The new facility will initially have a design capacity of 100,000 t/y using Solvay's Epicerol technology, which is based on the transformation of glycerin obtained as by-product from the production of biofuels out of vegetable renewable oils. Production is expected to begin in 2013.
