Karachi-Pakistan's Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will consider a proposal from "a private company in collaboration with foreign investors" for a petrochemical project at Port Qasim, local sources said. The proposal envisions an investment of ?470-million to build facilities for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in the first phase. A further investment of ?l-billion would add a naphtha cracker and other downstream production units.
