Socar Lays Gas Pipeline to Supply Azerkimya Ethylene & PE Plants

Baku-State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan (Socar) has completed a 60-km pipeline that will transport dry gas from the Heydar Aliyev refinery to the ethylene and polyethylene (PE) plants of its Azerkimya subsidiary at Sumgait (PCN, 21 Feb 2011, p 3). The line, which will supply Azerkimya with 92,000 t/y of dry gas, was built to provide a reliable source of feedstock, according to local news reports.
