LSB Restarts Ammonia Production Following Fire at Prvor Facility

Prvor-LSB Industries last week announced that its Pryor Chemical Co. subsidiary has restarted its Pryor, Okla., anhydrous ammonia plant, which was shut down following a June 2010 fire. A pipe failure resulted in the fire, which damaged the ammonia plant's primary reformer, LSB explained. "The nitric acid and urea plants will be activated to produce urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) in proper sequence to meet anticipated customer orders."
