PTT Proceeding with Plan to Merge Petchem and Refining Subsidiaries

Bangkok-PTT Plc expects to complete during the first quarter of this year a plan to consolidate its four petrochemical and refining subsidiaries (PCN, 30 Nov 09, p 1). In November, the company announced that it was delaying the merger of its PTT Aromatics and Refining, PTT Chemical, IRPC and Thai Oil subsidiaries until the courts established definitive environmental guidelines for operations at the Map Ta Phut industrial estate in Rayong, Thailand. PTT had expected to combine the units into a single entity at the beginning of 2010.
