Dow Planning U.S. and Spanish Projects To Add Polyolefin Elastomers Capacity

Midland-Dow Chemical Co. has announced a "technology breakthrough project" that will increase production capacity for polyolefin elastomers at its Freeport, Texas, and Tarragona, Spain, sites.The expansions, in conjunction with a joint venture project currently under construction in Thailand, will result in a net increase of 550-million lbs/yr, bringing Dow's worldwide capacity for polyolefin elastomers to nearly 2-billion lbs/yr.
