Agrium's CF Offer is 'Best and Final'

Calgary-Agrium Inc. said that its offer to acquire all outstanding shares of CF Industries for $40.00 in cash and one common share of Agrium for each CF share is its "best and final price absent engagement by CF and demonstration of additional value." Agrium originally offered $31.70 in cash, plus one share of Agrium for each share of CF, but later increased the cash component of its offer to $35.00 per share, and more recently raised it to $40.00 per share (PCN, 1 June 09, p 2).
