Qapco Contracts Ethylene to Sumitomo

Doha-Qatar Petrochemical Co. (Qapco) has signed a contract to supply Sumitomo Corp. with 36,000 tons of ethylene through the end of this year. Qapco, a joint venture of Industries Qatar (80%) and Total (20%), in 2007 completed a 200,000-t/y expansion of its Me-saieed ethylene capacity to 720,000 t/y (PCN, 10 Sept 07, p 1).
