Muscat-Octal Petrochemicals is building the region's first liquid chemicals terminal in the Port of Salalah, which will store ethylene glycol (EG) feedstock for Octal, local press reports said. Separately, Octal disclosed it is in talks with Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (Sabic) for the supply of EG to meet its requirements for a new integrated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin and amorphous PET sheet complex in the Salalah Free Zone (PCN, 25 Feb. 08, p 1).
