VeraSun Energy Acquires US BioEnergy; Starts New Ethanol Production in Ohio

Brookings- VeraSun Energy Corp. on 1 Apr. completed its previously announced all stock acquisition of ethanol producer US Bio-Energy Corp. (PCN, 14 Jan 08, p 2). At the same time, VeraSun announced the startup of a its Bloomingburg, Ohio, bio-refinery, which is designed to produce 110-million gal/yr of ethanol and increases the company's production capacity to more than 1-billion gal/yr.
