Methanex Secures Gas Supplies To Restart Idled Motunui Unit

Vancouver-Methanex last week said it has reached an agreement on terms of a natural gas supply arrangement that will allow the company to resume production at one of its two idled methanol plants in Motunui, New Zealand (PCN, 4 Feb 08, p 3). The agreement, for which terms were not disclosed, will allow Methanex to restart an idled 900,000-t/y plant in mid-2008 and operate the facility "until at least the end of 2009."
