Indorama Completes Asset Acquisition From Guangdong Shinda UHMWPE

Guangdons—Indorama Ventures (IVL) has completed the acquisition of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyester polymers plant from Guangdong Shinda UHMWPE Co. (PCN, 15 Nov 2010, p 4). To be renamed Guangdong IVL PET Polymers Co. Ltd., the plant, which is located in Kaiping City, Guangdong Province, has a current capacity of 406,000 t/y. IVL noted that it plans to expand the facility to around 500,000 t/y "in the future as demand grows."
