IOC Boosting Gujarat Refinery Capacity; Considering Paraxylene & PTA Plants

Gujarat-Indian Oil Corp. (IOC), as part of a plan to increase its refining capacity to 123-million t/y by 2021, said it will increase the capacity of its Gujarat refinery in phases to 23-million t/y by 2021 from a current production level of 13.7-million t/y.Rajkumar Ghosh, IOC's refineries director, said the company is also considering setting up a paraxylene and purified terephthalic acid project at Gujarat to add value to its hydrocarbon chain.
